Mighty Men of Mouse: Episode 0271 -- July Gallimaufry

GALLIMAUFRY! Our first topic this week is what properties or companies we believe that Disney should try to acquire.  The second topic is salary cap style game about how we would spend an hour in the Magic Kingdom.  Finally and drawing inspiration from Effectively Wild's The only rule is that it has to work, we discuss how we would manage a small, independent amusement park.

  1. What I'd do running a theme park for a year:
    1. Rename it "Thrilllzland."
    2. Figure out some kind of paper fastpass system.
    3. I'd have to run analytics for low-capacity issues, but fairly quick and cheap builds, I imagine, would be big playgrounds and obstacle courses. I'd hold American Ninja Warrior-style competitions and give out APs as prizes. Not sure I could get that done in 1 year, though.
    4. Send mobile vending carts and maybe even stadium-style ice cream and drink vendors to long lines on attractions.
    5. Do some kind of park-wide scavenger or treasure hunt. Maybe have a premium portion similar to the mystery or escape rooms that are becoming popular.
